The Japan Tariff Association (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) strictly adheres to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the “Personal Information Protection Act”) and other relevant laws and regulations when handling personal information. The Association handles personal information with care and appropriateness and strives to ensure its protection.

Acquisition of Personal Information

The Association acquires personal information through proper and fair means.

Use of Personal Information

The Association uses acquired personal information within the scope of the purposes for which it was collected:

1. To provide products, services, and after-sales support
2. To send materials requested by individuals
3. To respond to inquiries and consultations
4. To provide information about products, services, and events

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

1. The Association will not provide personal information to third parties without the individual’s consent, except in the following cases:
   • When required by the Personal Information Protection Act or other relevant laws and regulations
   • When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and obtaining consent is difficult
   • When necessary for public health or the sound development of children, and obtaining consent is difficult
   • When cooperation is necessary for the execution of lawful duties by national or local government agencies or their contractors, and obtaining consent may hinder such duties
2. When outsourcing the handling of personal information to third parties within the scope necessary to achieve the intended purposes, the Association carefully selects such third parties and supervises them to ensure proper management measures equivalent to those implemented by the Association.

Management of Personal Information

1. The Association appropriately manages personal information and implements information security and other safety measures to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, loss, damage, or alteration of personal information.
2. The Association responds sincerely to requests from individuals regarding disclosure, inquiries, correction, or deletion of their personal information.

Requests for Disclosure

Individuals have the right to request disclosure, correction, deletion, or suspension of use of personal information collected through various application forms (including online forms). Requests are handled after confirming the identity of the registrant; requests through a representative are also possible. For details, please contact the following:

Formulation and Implementation of Personal Information Protection Rules

The Association establishes personal information protection rules in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and other relevant laws and regulations and strives for proper operational management. These rules are reviewed periodically and appropriately, with continuous efforts to improve them.
